![]() Then you have the four lane roads that move traffic around those smaller areas, with 2 lane roads being the main access to the actual buildings (2 lane road intersections also have no traffic lights). Similar to the highway by-pass, you want those big avenues with 6 lane roads to be bypasses for the bits of your city so the residential and delivery traffic only enters the areas it needs to. Now you don't have to deal with traffic that doesn't want to visit your city, you only have to deal with traffic that does. These days this can be done very elegantly using a tunnel. So the first thing to do is build a by-pass, and heavily dis-incentivize using your city as a path through to the other highway. You'll have way too much traffic without that through traffic. You don't want this traffic to go through the city. ![]() If you have the town between two highways, you'll get quite a lot of through traffic (all it wants to do is get from one highway to the other). Traffic still confuses me greatly in this game.You just have to give it places to go.
